What was your dream job when you were growing up?
I used to joke that my dream was not to work at all! No seriously, I probably wanted to be an astronaut 👨🚀
Tell us about your career journey to date and what led you to FrankieOne.
I’ve been a software engineer since I graduated, and I’ve had the privilege of gaining experience in the fintech industry in my last role. While my journey took an unexpected turn when I was laid off, it became an opportunity to reflect, grow, and explore new possibilities. That’s when I discovered FrankieOne—the light at the end of my tunnel. Joining FrankieOne felt like a perfect next step; a place where I could bring my skills to an ambitious company with people who inspire me.

What led you to a role in Engineering here at FrankieOne?
Becoming a software engineer wasn’t something I initially pictured for myself—it all started with an internship offer, and things just took off from there. My role involves plenty of brainstorming, understanding what customers need, designing systems that fit the bill, and yes, occasionally saying “Noted” while still figuring out the best way to make it work. It’s a mix of creativity, problem-solving, and continuous learning that keeps me engaged every step of the way.
What do you love about working at FrankieOne?
I love the challenge, the culture, and the people I work with every day. There’s something truly special about being surrounded by a team that’s not only talented but also genuinely supportive. I used to hear people say that their team leader was what made them love their company, and I never really understood what they meant—until now.
What has been your proudest moment so far at FrankieOne?
My proudest moment was completing my first project, where I built the Notification Service. Now, knowing it’s being used by so many people is incredibly rewarding—it’s a constant reminder of the impact we can have through the work we do.

What are some of your favourite things to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active with workouts and exploring new cafes to try different coffee blends.
What’s a fun fact that you think people should know?
Three months ago, I hated running. Now, I've signed up for a half marathon!
Do you have any advice for people looking to work at a startup?
Embrace the chaos—startups are where you learn to juggle flaming swords, solve puzzles blindfolded, and sometimes invent entirely new rules along the way. If you love the thrill of wearing many hats, you’ll thrive!
