Our Co-Founders, Simon and Aaron had a vision from the very beginning to build a personal, simplified banking product that would create a great customer experience for all. Frank, and simple. Hence the name ‘Frankie’, unified by one single API, one decision engine, one customer dashboard, which equalled ‘FrankieOne’.
At FrankieOne, our culture isn't just about helping the world’s financial institutions grow securely; it's about striving to be the best in every aspect of our work. This means clearly defining and communicating project goals and responsibilities, taking responsibility for both successes and setbacks, and reflecting on and learning from past experiences to improve future performance.
- Drive Results We focus on output, quality, and exercising sound judgement. We prioritise, optimise resources, and deliver solutions that support FrankieOne's success. This is evident in our QBRs, continuously optimising processes for better efficiency, and making data-driven decisions to enhance performance and outcomes.
- Need for Speed We are fast-paced, nimble, and agile. We thrive in a structured yet dynamic environment, where working at pace is a way of life. Adapting quickly to changing priorities and new information, implementing efficient workflows to minimise bottlenecks, and encouraging rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate We work together seamlessly, leveraging each other’s strengths to achieve our common goals. This involves engaging in regular cross-functional team meetings, sharing knowledge and resources generously with teammates, and building strong, trust-based relationships across the organisation.

This looks like encouraging creative problem-solving and thinking outside the box, supporting experimental projects/programs, staying up-to-date with industry trends and incorporating new insights.

Constantly raising the bar
We’re building an organisation of high density talent, where everyone we hire is excellent at their craft, curious, and self-starting. We expect excellence, obsess over details, and only deliver work we are proud of. We are committed to setting and achieving higher standards in everything we do. Practically, this means challenging ourselves and our team to exceed past performance, setting ambitious goals and striving to meet them.
Proactively flag the amber
Transparency and proactive communication is a must have at Frankie, especially when things aren't going as expected. The RAG (Red-Amber-Green) status system is a quick visual tool that helps us assess and communicate project health. We encourage team members to openly share when they encounter potential issues (amber status) or are falling behind. This openness allows us to address problems early, reallocate resources, and adjust plans as necessary. It also fosters a culture where asking for help is seen as a strength, not a weakness. We believe in being frank about our progress and taking decisive action through GTG (Go-to-Green) charts that could also include pivoting or stopping projects that aren't delivering expected results.
Tell us what your going to achieve and we’ll hold you to it
We empower our team members with a high level of autonomy, allowing them to identify key issues to focus on and decide how and when to tackle them. This freedom comes with the responsibility to set clear, achievable goals and to communicate these to the organisation. We document these through our QBR process and share them openly, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed. We hold regular check-ins, typically every six weeks, to review progress and offer support where needed. This principle underscores our commitment to accountability: when you set goals, we expect you to deliver on them. It's about being comfortable with autonomy and excelling in execution, consistently meeting or exceeding expectations.
Be a driver, not a passenger
Drivers run toward problems. They make things happen, create opportunities, remove roadblocks, and bring the energy. They work smart and hard. Passengers wait to be told what to do, or for an opportunity to come along. They might work hard and get on well with the team, but don’t move the needle. We are drivers.
Move with urgency. Create urgency. Embrace urgency
Drive the pace, don’t follow it - always ask yourself ‘why not today?’. This challenges the team to prioritise action and avoid delays.
Be relentlessly resourceful
Our mission hinges on making compliance more efficient for our customers, but we can only credibly do this by being resourceful ourselves. Constraints - be they time, resources, or scope - force us to think differently, be creative, and focus.
Know your customer
To create the best user experience in our industry, we need to know our users and customers inside out. By living in their world, our empathy and motivation only grow. We’re one step ahead and bring innovations they can’t conceive. We make decisions they would get behind (even if it takes them time to do so).
Ruthlessly prioritise
There are endless problems to solve, but everything has an opportunity cost. We only do things that are on the critical path to our mission. This means making tough decisions and saying ‘no’ more than ‘yes’.
Thick skinned
Challenges and setbacks are inevitable. Developing a thick skin means embracing resilience and maintaining a positive attitude, even when things don't go as planned. We encourage our team to view difficulties as opportunities for growth and learning, rather than setbacks. This principle is about persevering through tough times, staying focused on our goals, and continuously pushing forward despite obstacles.

This means valuing honest, direct communication and constructive feedback, even when it leads to challenging conversations. We believe that true respect involves acknowledging different perspectives and addressing conflicts openly. At FrankieOne we are committed to setting clear expectations for high performance and rewarding those who consistently exceed their goals and contribute meaningfully to our success. High performers are celebrated not only through recognition and perks but also by sharing their stories as tangible examples of what is possible here. We are equally transparent about the consequences of not meeting expectations. Our performance reviews clearly outline what is required, and while we provide the autonomy for you to set and achieve goals, we also hold individuals accountable. Failure to meet established KPIs or contribute positively to our culture may lead to corrective actions, including performance improvement plans or, in some cases, termination. This balanced approach ensures that everyone understands the stakes and is motivated to strive for high performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and mutual accountability.
